IoT challenge Workshop 2016 : IIT Bombay Techfest

A highly uplifting and educationally enlightening event "IoT Challenge Workshop 2016 "was held on 3rd and 4th November .
Initiated by i3 India, this workshop was a precursory step get an opportunity to attend the IIT Bombay Techfest, to be held in December 2016.
All over India, 6 zonal centers were assigned, amongst which SISTec-R, Bhopal was the zonal center for central india.
To actualize this workshop, a highly skilled trainer, Mr. Deepak (Ex MANIIT, branch EC, 2009) who currently works with i3 india, embedded system research wing.
This workshop  include earnest participation of 51 students grouped in 11 teams. This comprised students from Sistec itself and many other institutes,
First day highlights being:

Timing: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Topics accomplished:
Introduction to IoT technology, Basics of microcontroller and its interfacing using Embedded C. Operating sensors/LEDs.
Installation of softwares like AVR Studio, XTU.
Devices used:
Minitron, ttl, temperature sensor, GSM kit
Programs implemented: Based on led bink

Second day highlights being:

Timing: 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Topics accomplished: Control 240V bulb using computer, using GSM module (sim cards)
Performing tasks like calling, text, network, GPRS setting.

After this, a prelims round was held in which a practical task was assigned to the students for their assessment:
Task Alloted:
Create a program to convert any capital digit into small digit.

Out of the 11 teams, 4 teams could successfully come up with completion of alloted task within the stipulated time. And eventually Three teams qualified upto final round.
The students in the winning teams were:
First Position was grabbed by Acropolis institute (Ayushi Gupta and team)
First runner ups again from Acropolis (Pranay Mahajan and team)
Second runner ups were from JIIT, Noida (Aman Vaishya and team)
 The winners were awarded bythe respected Dr. Jyoti Deshmukh Ma'am, Principal, SISTec-R and his excellency Mr. Pawan Grover Sir, Executive Director Sagar Group.
All the participants were given a certificate of appreciation.
Also its highly pariseworthy that a letter of association was presented to the principal, SISTec-R by i3 india.
